Final Report to Governor & General Assembly due Jan. 29, 1999.

The Governor created the Governor's Special Commission to Study Health-Care Procurement Practices in March 1998 (Executive Order 01.01.1998.10; Executive Order 01.01.1998.29).

The Commission will review State health-care contracting and bidding procedures, and vendor conduct and practices. It will determine whether more limits are needed to prevent conflicts of interest or improper influence by State officials and employees, and persons in the private health-care industry. The laws and procedures governing penalties, suspensions, and debarments arising from such situations also will be examined by the Commission.
