The Task Force to Study the Comprehensive Licensing of Automotive-Related Industries was created in July 1998 (Chapter 378, Acts of 1998).
The Task Force examined the scope of unlicensed activity in automotive-related industries. Such industries include automotive dismantlers and recyclers, body shops, auctions, scrap processors, towers, new and used vehicle dealers, wholesalers, and manufacturers. In addition, the Task Force studied the feasibility of and standards for licensing unlicensed businesses, and considered the resources needed to enforce a comprehensive licensing law.
The Task Force submitted its report to the Governor and General Assembly on December 18, 1998.
